Description
Upgrade your classic Chrysler Poly 318 engine with the Top Street Performance Dual Plane Aluminum Intake Manifold, engineered specifically for the Chrysler A-Series Poly V8. This Poly 318 intake manifold features a dual-plane runner design that promotes balanced airflow and fuel distribution for improved throttle response, strong low- and mid-range torque, and dependable street drivability across the idle-to-5,500 RPM operating range.
Designed as a direct performance upgrade for Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrysler vehicles powered by the Poly V8, this manifold supports carbureted 4-barrel applications and is built to work with the unique cylinder head and port geometry of the Chrysler A-Series Poly engine. Whether you're restoring a Plymouth Fury, building a Dodge Coronet street cruiser, or assembling a classic Mopar hot rod with a Poly 318, this manifold delivers the airflow and drivability your combination needs.
The lightweight aluminum construction reduces overall engine weight compared to heavier factory cast-iron manifolds while dissipating heat more efficiently to help keep intake charge temperatures in check. The satin aluminum finish delivers a clean, show-quality appearance that complements both period-correct restorations and custom engine bays.
This is a Poly 318-specific intake manifold — it will not fit Chrysler LA-series small block engines or Magnum engines, which use a different cylinder head and intake bolt pattern. If you're building or restoring a true Chrysler A-Series Poly V8, this dual plane intake manifold provides the airflow efficiency, low-end torque, and street manners that classic Mopar Poly builds deserve.
Dual-Plane Intake Technology
The dual-plane runner design divides the intake plenum into two separate planes, each feeding alternating cylinders to help maintain strong air velocity throughout the operating range. This configuration promotes balanced air-fuel distribution across all eight cylinders, supporting the consistent low- and mid-range torque delivery that street-driven Poly 318 builds require. By maintaining airflow velocity from idle through 5,500 RPM, the dual-plane layout delivers the responsive throttle feel and smooth drivability that makes this manifold well-suited for daily drivers, cruisers, and classic car restorations.
Performance Benefits
Designed for the Chrysler A-Series Poly 318 V8, this manifold supports improved airflow efficiency compared to restrictive factory cast-iron intakes. The dual-plane layout optimizes power delivery in the idle-to-5,500 RPM range where most street-driven Poly 318 engines spend their time, making it an excellent choice for drivers seeking stronger low-end grunt, crisper throttle response, and improved overall drivability without sacrificing street manners.

Q&A
What is the difference between a Poly 318 and an LA 318?
The Chrysler Poly 318 and LA 318 are completely different engines. The Poly (A-Series) engine was produced in the late 1950s through the mid-1960s and features a unique cylinder head and intake bolt pattern. The LA-series 318 replaced it and uses different cylinder heads and intake geometry. This manifold fits the Poly 318 only.
Will this intake fit my Chrysler LA-series 318, 340, or 360?
No. This manifold is designed exclusively for the Chrysler A-Series Poly 318 V8. It will not fit LA-series engines including the 318, 340, or 360, which use different cylinder head bolt patterns and intake port configurations.
Will this fit a Magnum 318 or 360?
No. This manifold will not fit Chrysler Magnum V8 engines. It is designed specifically for the A-Series Poly 318 only.
What vehicles used the Chrysler Poly 318 engine?
The Chrysler A-Series Poly 318 V8 was used in vehicles including the Dodge Coronet, Dodge Custom Royal, Dodge Royal, Plymouth Belvedere, Plymouth Fury, Plymouth Savoy, Chrysler Windsor, and Chrysler Saratoga, primarily during the late 1950s through the mid-1960s.
What carburetor does this intake manifold require?
This intake is designed for a single 4-barrel carburetor. Carburetor sizing depends on engine displacement, camshaft specifications, and intended use. A 600-750 CFM 4-barrel carburetor is a common starting point for many street-driven Poly 318 applications.
What RPM range is this intake designed for?
This dual-plane intake manifold is designed for idle-to-5,500 RPM operation, making it well suited for street driving, cruising, and mild performance builds.
Why choose aluminum over a cast-iron intake for my Poly 318?
Aluminum construction reduces overall engine weight and dissipates heat more efficiently than cast iron, helping maintain lower intake charge temperatures. It also provides a cleaner appearance for restorations, hot rods, and show vehicles.
Does this intake manifold include gaskets or hardware?
No. Intake gaskets and carburetor hardware are sold separately. Use Poly 318-specific intake gaskets to ensure proper sealing.
Is this a good intake for a Poly 318 hot rod or street rod build?
Yes. The dual-plane design delivers strong low- and mid-range torque characteristics that work well in street rods, hot rods, cruisers, and classic Mopar restoration builds powered by the Chrysler A-Series Poly 318.
What is the manifold height?
This manifold measures 5.130 inches in height and fits standard deck-height Chrysler A-Series Poly V8 blocks.

Looks good, loved your price, that's what sold me on it
Thanks
The intake seems to be on good quality but I had to modify it to make the bolt holes line up. I am also using a MSD ready to run distributor and I had to modify the distributor to fit. Although that’s fine because it would have fit with a factory distributor.
It looks good, but I have not used it yet
It needed a bit of touch up with a long carbide bit on casting flash. Over all I am very happy. Will know more after install !
