Product Details

Features

  • Steel cylinder head gaskets seal the head-to-block joint on LS1/LS6 engines
  • 3.910" bore diameter provides proper clearance over the stock 3.898" bore
  • Fits LS1 and LS6 only — not compatible with LS2, LS3, or LS7 bore sizes
  • Single-use design; always install new gaskets whenever heads are removed

Description

This steel cylinder head gasket set seals the head-to-block joint on LS1 and LS6 engines, with a 3.910" bore diameter manufactured slightly larger than the stock 3.898" block bore to provide proper clearance — this is standard sizing, not a mismatch, even on an unbored stock block.

This gasket set is built for LS1 and LS6 engines only. LS2, LS3, and LS7 use larger factory bore diameters (4.000", 4.065", and 4.125" respectively) and require a different gasket set — confirm your specific engine before ordering. Head gaskets are single-use; install new gaskets any time the cylinder heads are removed, and never reuse a gasket that's already been torqued down once.

Engine Applications
Fits Chevrolet LS1 and LS6 (5.7L, 346 CID) engines, commonly found in Corvette, Camaro, Firebird, and GTO LS1 applications. Not compatible with LS2, LS3, or LS7 engines, which use different, larger bore diameters.

Installation
Follow GM's factory torque specification and sequence when installing, or the torque spec provided by your aftermarket head bolt or stud manufacturer if you've upgraded from stock hardware. Always install a new gasket set whenever the cylinder heads are removed — head gaskets are single-use and should never be reinstalled after removal.

NOTES
• Gasket bore diameter is 3.910 in., manufactured slightly larger than the stock 3.898 in. LS1/LS6 block bore to provide proper clearance — this is standard and does not indicate a mismatch with a stock, unbored block.
• Head gaskets are single-use — always install a new gasket any time the cylinder head is removed; do not reuse.
• Fits LS1 and LS6 engines only — not compatible with LS2, LS3, or LS7, which use larger factory bore diameters (4.000 in., 4.065 in., and 4.125 in. respectively) and require a different gasket.
• Follow GM factory torque specification and sequence when installing, or the specification provided by your aftermarket head bolt/stud manufacturer if upgraded from stock hardware.

Q&A

Will this fit an LS2, LS3, or LS7?
No — this gasket set is designed specifically for LS1/LS6 applications with a 3.898" stock cylinder bore. LS2, LS3, and LS7 engines use larger bore sizes and require appropriately sized head gaskets.

Why is the gasket bore larger than my engine's stock bore?
That's intentional. The 3.910" gasket bore provides clearance around the LS1/LS6's 3.898" cylinder bore so the gasket does not protrude into the combustion chamber. This sizing is appropriate for a standard-bore LS1/LS6 application.

Can I reuse a head gasket if I remove the heads again later?
No — head gaskets should be treated as single-use components. Install new gaskets whenever the cylinder heads are removed.

What torque spec should I use when installing these gaskets?
Follow the GM factory tightening sequence and specifications for your specific engine and fasteners. If you're using aftermarket head bolts or studs, follow the fastener manufacturer's torque procedure instead.

Does this include head bolts or studs?
The current specifications do not confirm that head bolts or studs are included. Confirm with TSP before ordering if you need installation hardware.

Is this gasket set suitable for a bored or stroked LS1/LS6 build?
A stroker crank by itself does not determine head-gasket compatibility, but an increased cylinder bore can. This gasket has a 3.910" bore, so verify your finished cylinder bore, combustion-chamber overhang, and gasket requirements before using it on a bored or modified LS1/LS6.
