Description

This is a black steel integral reservoir designed for GM Saginaw P-Series banjo-style power steering pumps — the black finish counterpart to the chrome steel reservoir offered separately. It mounts directly to the pump body in a non-remote, integral configuration, giving your Saginaw pump a clean, stealth underhood appearance without the need for remote reservoir hoses or brackets.

This reservoir is a common replacement or upgrade for restorations, engine swaps, and street performance builds running a Saginaw P-Series pump, including small block and big block Chevy swaps where the original reservoir has worn out, rusted, corroded, or been replaced with an aftermarket pump core. It's commonly used on Camaro, Chevelle, Nova, C10, and GMC C/K builds, as well as other GM platforms running the same banjo-style pump architecture.

The cap and fittings are not included — confirm you have a compatible cap and banjo fitting on hand before installation. This is a reservoir only; it does not include the pump, pulley, or mounting hardware. Sold individually.

Black Steel Reservoir Built for Saginaw P-Series Banjo Pump Systems
Manufactured from steel with a black finish, this integral reservoir mounts directly to GM Saginaw P-Series banjo-style power steering pumps — a direct replacement for a rusted, cracked, or worn reservoir without changing your pump's mounting configuration.

Stops Fluid Starvation Before It Costs You Steering Feel
A cracked, rusted, or leaking reservoir can starve the pump of fluid, leading to noisy, inconsistent, or failing power steering assist. This black steel reservoir restores proper fluid capacity to the Saginaw P-Series pump while keeping a clean, stealth appearance suited to street performance, pro-touring, and resto-mod builds where a low-key underhood look is preferred over chrome.

Q&A

Is this a reservoir or a complete power steering pump?
This is the reservoir only — a black steel integral reservoir designed to mount on a compatible GM Saginaw P-Series banjo-style power steering pump. The pump, cap, fittings, and mounting hardware are not included.

Will this fit a Saginaw P-Series banjo pump?
Yes, this reservoir is built for GM Saginaw P-Series banjo-style power steering pumps. Confirm your pump uses the banjo-style integral reservoir mount before ordering.

Is the cap included?
No — the cap and fittings are not included. Confirm you have a compatible banjo fitting and reservoir cap on hand before installation.

How is this different from the chrome Saginaw P-Series reservoir?
This is the black steel finish version; the chrome steel reservoir is offered separately. Both are integral-mount steel reservoirs for the same Saginaw P-Series banjo pump platform — the difference is finish only.

Is this compatible with a GM Type II (TC series) power steering pump?
No, this reservoir is built specifically for GM Saginaw P-Series banjo-style pumps and is not compatible with GM Type II (TC series) pump setups.

Can I use this on a small block or big block Chevy swap?
Yes, this reservoir is commonly used on small block and big block Chevy engine swaps and hot rod builds running a Saginaw P-Series banjo pump.

Why would I need to replace my power steering reservoir?
A cracked, rusted, or leaking reservoir can starve the pump of fluid and cause inconsistent or noisy power steering assist. A black reservoir also suits stealth, pro-touring, and resto-mod builds preferring a blacked-out accessory drive over chrome.

Do I need to bleed the system after installing this reservoir?
Yes, bleed the power steering system after installation to remove trapped air and ensure smooth steering response.

What's the difference between an integral and remote reservoir?
Integral reservoirs mount directly to the pump body; remote reservoirs are mounted separately and connected by hose. This is an integral design — no remote reservoir lines or brackets needed.

Is this reservoir compatible with all Saginaw pump models?
This reservoir is designed for the Saginaw P-Series banjo-style pump specifically. Confirm your pump model and mounting configuration before ordering.
