Product Details

Features

  • Inline filter traps debris before it reaches your radiator, water pump, or heater core
  • Glass body lets you check coolant condition and filter status without disassembly
  • Fits any 1 1/2" (38mm) hose setup — sized for larger-diameter cooling lines
  • Aluminum end caps with stainless element for a durable, serviceable design

Description

This aluminum and glass inline coolant filter is built for cooling systems running a 1 1/2" (38mm) hose — a larger diameter commonly found on high-flow radiator setups, larger-displacement engines, and custom cooling systems built with oversized hose runs. It traps debris circulating through the system while the glass body lets you check coolant condition and filter status without cutting the hose again to inspect it.

This is a universal-fit filter sized to hose diameter, not to a specific vehicle. Fitment depends on matching your existing hose inside diameter to the 1 1/2" (38mm) inlet/outlet — confirm your hose size before ordering, since this size will not seal correctly on a smaller-diameter line, and a reducer or adapter would be needed to step down to 1 1/4" hose.

The stainless steel filter element sits inside an aluminum-and-glass housing, with hose clamps included for installation.

Cooling System Applications
This filter suits custom cooling builds, hot rods, engine swaps, and street performance vehicles running 1 1/2" (38mm) coolant hose — a size often paired with higher-flow radiators or larger engine cooling demands rather than a specific factory hose diameter. Fitment is determined by hose size, not vehicle year or make.

Installation
Cut into an existing 1 1/2" coolant hose section and secure the filter inline using the included clamps, positioning the glass body somewhere visible for routine inspection — commonly the upper radiator hose on larger-diameter cooling systems. Flush and bleed the cooling system after installation to clear any air introduced during the cut-in.

Q&A

Will this filter fit my specific car or truck?
Fitment isn't vehicle-specific — this filter is designed for cooling systems using a 1½" (38mm) inside-diameter hose. Verify your hose size before ordering.

What's the difference between this and the 1¼" version?
The difference is hose size. This version fits 1½" (38mm) ID hose, while the smaller version fits 1¼" (32mm) ID hose. Choose based on your existing hose diameter rather than vehicle make or model.

Where should this filter be installed in the cooling system?
It's typically installed inline in the upper radiator hose before the radiator, where it can capture debris circulating through the cooling system. Choose an accessible straight section of compatible 1½" hose.

Can the filter element be cleaned and reused?
Yes — the stainless steel filter element is removable and reusable. It can be cleaned and reinstalled rather than replacing the complete filter assembly.

Will I need to flush my cooling system after installing this filter?
You'll need to account for coolant lost when cutting or disconnecting the radiator hose. After installation, refill and properly bleed the cooling system according to your vehicle's procedure to remove trapped air.

Is this filter suitable for a new engine build or engine swap using larger hose diameters?
Yes — it's well suited to custom cooling systems and engine swaps using 1½" hose, where it can help capture loose debris during initial operation.

How do I know when the filter needs cleaning?
The glass inspection body allows you to visually monitor debris buildup and coolant condition. Inspect it periodically and clean the element when visible contamination accumulates.
