This 1-piece steel timing cover is built to replace a cracked, warped, or leaking factory timing cover on Chevy big block Gen II (Mark IV) engines — 396, 402, 427, and 454 CID. The 1-piece plain design seals the timing chain area while giving the front of the engine a clean, finished appearance in black.
This is a bare cover — crankshaft seal, gaskets, and bolts are not included and should be sourced separately. It's built specifically for long water pump configurations — confirm your engine uses a long, not short, water pump before ordering, along with balancer clearance and sensor provisions.
