Product Details

Features

  • Straight-up chrome zinc outlet routes the upper radiator hose cleanly
  • O-ring seal and mounting hardware included for straightforward installation
  • Fits Ford 351C, 351M, and 400 V8 engines — not compatible with 351W
  • Zinc construction with chrome finish handles coolant system heat and pressure

Description

This straight-up water neck creates the coolant outlet connection between the thermostat housing and upper radiator hose on Ford 335-series V8 engines, with a chrome finish over zinc construction built to handle coolant system heat and pressure. An O-ring seal is included, along with mounting hardware, for a complete installation.

This water neck is built for the Ford Cleveland 351C and Modified 351M/400 (335-series) engine family only — it will not fit the Ford Windsor 351W, which uses a different thermostat housing design despite the similar displacement and naming. Confirm your specific engine before ordering, since 351C and 351W are commonly confused but are not interchangeable at the thermostat housing.

This outlet is straight-up and does not swivel; hose alignment is fixed at installation.

Engine Applications
Fits the Ford Cleveland 351C and Modified 351M and 400 (335-series) V8 engines. These share a common thermostat housing design distinct from the Windsor-series 351W, so confirming which "351" your engine actually is matters more than displacement alone.

Installation
Confirm your engine is a 351C, 351M, or 400 (335-series) before ordering — a 351W will not accept this water neck despite the shared "351" naming. The included O-ring seals against the housing face; because this outlet is fixed rather than swiveling, hose alignment is set by the neck's straight-up angle rather than by rotating it after mounting.

Q&A

Does this fit a Ford 351W?
No — this water neck fits Ford 351C (Cleveland), 351M (Modified), and 400 335-series engines. The 351W (Windsor) uses a different thermostat housing design and is not compatible.

How do I know if my engine is a 351C, 351M, or 351W?
The 351C, 351M, and 400 belong to Ford's 335-series engine family, while the 351W is part of the Windsor family and uses a different block and thermostat housing configuration. If you're unsure which engine you have, verify the casting numbers or other engine identification before ordering.

Does this water neck swivel?
No — this water neck has a fixed, straight-up outlet and does not swivel. Radiator-hose routing is determined by the outlet position once installed.

Does this include a gasket or O-ring?
This water neck includes an O-ring seal.

Is this suitable for a classic Ford or Mercury restoration?
Yes — the chrome-over-zinc finish and straight-up outlet design provide a traditional appearance suited to classic Ford and Mercury builds using a compatible 351C, 351M, or 400 engine.
