Product Details

Features

  • Push-in probe activates electric cooling fans based on coolant temperature
  • Inserts directly into the radiator core — no threading or NPT port required
  • Universal fit for custom cooling systems using a probe-style fan controller
  • Includes wiring harness and male terminal for straightforward fan wiring

Description

This push-in probe thermostat activates electric cooling fans based on coolant temperature, using a probe that inserts directly into the radiator core rather than a threaded fitting. A wiring harness is included, with a male terminal for connection to a compatible fan controller circuit.

This is a push-in probe design — it is not a threaded NPT installation, and it is not interchangeable with TSP's 3/8" NPT thread-in fan controller switches (HC7112, HC7116). Confirm your cooling system uses a probe-style mounting location before ordering, since probe and thread-in switches use different installation methods and aren't cross-compatible.

Installation
This probe inserts directly into the radiator core at a compatible probe-style mounting location — no NPT threading or thread sealant is required, unlike TSP's thread-in fan switches. Confirm your radiator or cooling system has a suitable probe mounting point before ordering.

Wiring
The included wiring harness and single male terminal connect to a compatible fan relay or controller circuit — this probe triggers fan activation but doesn't independently power the fan, so it needs to be wired into an existing or compatible electric fan control circuit.

Q&A

Is this a thread-in (NPT) switch or a push-in probe?
This is a push-in probe design that inserts directly into the radiator core — it is not a threaded NPT installation and is not interchangeable with TSP's 3/8" NPT thread-in fan switches (HC7112, HC7116).

Can I use this in place of TSP's 3/8" NPT thread-in fan switch?
No. Probe and thread-in designs use different mounting methods and are not interchangeable — choose based on which mounting style your cooling system supports.

Does this include the wiring needed to connect to my fan?
Yes. A wiring harness and male terminal are included for connection to a compatible fan relay or controller circuit.

Do I need thread sealant to install this?
No. This is a push-in probe design, not a threaded fitting, so thread sealant isn't needed.

Will this fit my specific vehicle?
This is a universal-fit component — fitment depends on your radiator or cooling system having a compatible probe-style mounting location, not on vehicle make or model.
