Description

This main stud kit is manufactured from heat-treated 35 chromoly steel with a minimum tensile strength of 190,000 PSI, matched for Ford Small Block Windsor V8 engines. Stud-style fasteners thread permanently into the block and secure with a nut, providing more consistent clamping force than conventional main bolts.

Threads are rolled after heat treatment and finished in black oxide with an oil coating for corrosion resistance. This kit is a good fit for replacing missing, worn, or mismatched main cap hardware during a rebuild.

Fits Ford Small Block Windsor V8 engines: 4.2L/255 in³, 4.3L/260 in³, 4.7L/289 in³, and 5.0L/302 in³, including Mustang and other classic Ford small block V8 applications.

Installation
Torque in three steps: 25 ft-lbs, then 50 ft-lbs, then 75 ft-lbs. Confirm your block's main cap configuration before ordering.
