Description

These valve covers are built for the Ford 385-Series Big Block V8 family — 370, 429, and 460 CID. Applications include the Ford Mustang (Boss 429, 1969–1970), Torino (429 Cobra Jet, 1970–1971), and Thunderbird (429/460); Ford F-Series and Econoline vans (429/460 car-derived, with 370 specific to medium-duty trucks); and Lincoln Continental Mark III/IV and Town Car (460), along with Mercury Marquis and Colony Park (460).

Construction is chrome-plated steel with a plain top style and a 3 1/2 in. height, using a perimeter-bolt mounting pattern. Internal baffling is built in to help control oil movement and reduce blow-by. The 385-Series was produced in both short-bolt and long-bolt valve cover configurations, so confirming which pattern your cylinder heads use is a required step before ordering. These covers are sold as a pair without gaskets, grommets, or mounting hardware, so those should be sourced to match your specific application.
