Description
This 90° aluminum water neck creates the coolant outlet connection between the thermostat housing and upper radiator hose, with a polished finish that gives the engine bay a clean, finished look. The 90° outlet angle routes the upper radiator hose through a sharp turn toward the radiator, suited to engine bays where straight, 15°, or 45° necks don't provide the routing angle needed.
This water neck is built for Chevy Gen I small block (262-400 CID) engines and standard-deck Gen II (Mark IV) big block engines (396-427 CID) only. Unlike TSP's other water neck angles, this 90° version is not designed for tall-deck big block configurations or Gen V/Gen VI big block engines — confirm your engine's deck height and generation before ordering. It is also not designed for LS-based (Gen III/IV) small block engines.
The swivel design allows the outlet to rotate for hose routing flexibility after installation, and mounting hardware is included.
Engine Applications
Fits Chevrolet Gen I small block V8s from 262 through 400 CID and Gen II (Mark IV) standard-deck big block V8s from 396 through 427 CID — the 427 CID application is unique to this 90° version among TSP's water neck angle options. Tall-deck big block configurations and Gen V/Gen VI big blocks are not covered by this fitment; LS-generation (Gen III/IV) small blocks also use a different housing design and aren't covered.
Installation
Confirm your thermostat housing bolt pattern, deck height, and outlet clearance before installing — the sharp 90° turn sits differently in the engine bay than the straight, 15°, or 45° versions, so verify clearance against surrounding components. The included O-ring seals against the housing face, and the swivel outlet can be rotated after mounting to fine-tune upper radiator hose alignment.

NOTES
• Designed to seal at the thermostat housing area — confirm bolt pattern, O-ring sealing style, and outlet angle match your application before installation.
• 90-degree outlet angle is intended for engine bays where hose routing requires a sharper turn toward the radiator — confirm clearance before ordering, as a 90° neck sits differently than the straight, 15°, or 45° variants.
• Not all Chevy small block or big block engines use identical thermostat housing bolt patterns across every year — verify fitment against your specific engine's housing before ordering.
• Standard deck big block applications only — tall-deck big block engines use a different configuration and are not covered by this fitment.
COMMON VEHICLE APPLICATIONS
Classic and performance vehicles using matching thermostat housing dimensions
Street rods and custom cooling system applications
Engine builds requiring the listed water neck angle and sealing style
Q&A
Does this fit Gen V or Gen VI big block engines?
No — unlike TSP's straight, 15°, and 45° water necks, this 90° version is designed for standard-deck Gen II (Mark IV) Big Block Chevy engines only. It is not listed for Gen V or Gen VI Big Block applications.
Does this fit tall-deck big block engines?
No — this 90° water neck is designed for standard-deck Big Block Chevy configurations and is not listed for tall-deck applications.
Does this fit LS engines?
No — this water neck is designed for Gen I Small Block Chevy and standard-deck Gen II Big Block Chevy thermostat housings. LS-based Gen III/IV Small Block engines use a different housing design.
Why does this version fit 427 CID when other angles don't list it?
The fitment information for this 90° version specifically includes the 427 CID Gen II standard-deck Big Block. If the other angle versions don't list 427, confirm with TSP whether that difference reflects actual fitment or simply a difference in the current listings.
Why choose 90° instead of straight, 15°, or 45°?
The 90° outlet provides the sharpest hose-routing angle, making it useful when the upper radiator hose needs to turn sharply toward the radiator or around nearby components. Choose the angle based on your radiator position, hose routing, and available engine-bay clearance.
Will this fit any small block Chevy, or only certain years?
It's designed for Gen I Small Block Chevy engines from 262 through 400 CID. Verify your thermostat housing bolt pattern and sealing configuration before ordering.
