Classic Chevy small block engines built through 1979 use a two-piece rear main seal and driver-side dipstick — a different configuration than later small blocks, which requires a matching oil pan. This unplated steel pan is built for that exact application, covering a wide range of small block V8 Gen. I displacements: 265, 267, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, and 400 cubic inches.

The pan holds 4 quarts and includes internal baffling to help manage oil movement during acceleration and cornering. It uses a wet-sump design with the sump located at the rear of the pan, and a 1/2"-20 drain plug thread with the drain plug included. The gasket, oil pickup, windage tray, and dipstick are not included and will need to be sourced separately to complete installation.

This pan is not designed for 1962-1967 Chevy II, Chevelles with steering positioned behind the crossmember, V8-powered Vega or Monza models, or certain Corvette configurations — chassis clearance in these applications differs from the standard fitment this pan supports.
