Description

Upgrade your Jeep's Buick-built 225 Dauntless V6 with this long-shaft HEI distributor, a self-contained ignition upgrade combining the coil, ignition module, cap, and rotor into a single unit with one 12-volt connection — no external coil, ignition box, condenser, or points required.

The 65,000-volt internal coil delivers substantially stronger spark output than a factory points-style distributor, supporting easier cold starts, cleaner idle quality, and more consistent ignition performance across the RPM range. A magnetic pickup trigger replaces mechanical points contact, holding timing accurately without routine maintenance — a particularly meaningful upgrade on older Jeep Dauntless V6 engines where points-style components have often been in service for decades.

This is a long-shaft distributor, designed specifically for the 1966–1971 CJ-5, CJ-6, and Jeepster Commando applications using the 225 Dauntless V6 — not compatible with 1975–1977 Buick 231 odd-fire passenger-car applications, which require TSP's short-shaft distributor instead. Shaft length must match your engine's distributor/oil-pump-drive configuration; the wrong shaft length may prevent proper seating or oil-pump-drive engagement. A slight intake manifold modification may be required for distributor clearance. Both mechanical and vacuum advance are included, with a vacuum advance adjustment tool in the box. Available in black finish only.
