Description

A plain chrome air cleaner is a classic muscle car look that never goes out of style, and this 14" round kit pairs a recessed base with a chrome steel plain top and a white paper filter element sized for a 5 1/8" carburetor neck. Built for street performance and restoration applications running a 5 1/8" carburetor neck.

The kit includes a white paper filter element (3" height), recessed base, chrome-plated steel plain top, and mounting nut and stud — everything needed to complete the air-cleaner assembly. This is a disposable filter, replaced rather than cleaned.

Overall assembled height is 4 5/8", with a 5 1/8" neck flange. Before installing, confirm your carburetor neck diameter, filter height, and hood clearance match this kit's dimensions, and check stud length, breather provisions, and fuel-line clearance for final assembly.

Q&A

Is this the flat, hi-lip, or recessed base version?
This listing is the recessed base version. Flat and hi-lip base versions of this same muscle car style air cleaner are offered as separate listings.

Is the filter in this kit washable or disposable?
This kit includes a white paper filter element, which is disposable. Replace the filter during routine maintenance rather than cleaning and reusing it.

Will this fit a Holley or Edelbrock carburetor?
Yes. This air cleaner kit fits carburetors with a 5⅛-inch neck (air horn) diameter, including many Holley and Edelbrock models. Verify your carburetor's neck size before ordering.

How much hood clearance do I need for this air cleaner?
This air cleaner has an overall assembled height of 4⅝ inches. Measure from the carburetor mounting flange to the underside of the closed hood to ensure adequate clearance before installation.

What's the difference between the flat, hi-lip, and recessed base versions?
The three versions differ only in base profile. A flat base has a standard profile, a hi-lip base features a raised outer edge, and a recessed base positions the air cleaner lower on the carburetor to help increase hood clearance. All three share the same chrome-plated steel plain top, paper filter element, and overall dimensions.
