2016 is winding down. We’ve reached the last page of the calendar, and there is a chill in the air – yes, “chill” in Southern California means 60°, but that’s about all we can handle here. It’s a time for parties, dinners, family, and friends. It’s time to reflect on the year passed and look ahead to the year to come. For TSP, 2016 has been a year of growth and optimism.
In June, we implemented a small price increase – a necessity since we hadn't done so in several years. While there was some concern at the time, it did not negatively affect us or our clients. That had a great deal to do with our excellent sales staff further opening lines of communication. They worked very hard to focus on the benefits we offer as a company: quality, performance, and service. As always, our sales staff was supported by our warehouse, shipping, and administrative teams, to ensure that TSP fulfilled – and hopefully over-delivered on – every promise made to our customers.
Our product development team was hard at work in 2016, adding more than thirty new products in ignition, cooling, electrical, and more, as well as working to make TSP an authorized dealer of products from industry-leader K&N®. They refined and released items we had announced last year at SEMA, including our highly-anticipated LS serpentine kit. They also developed new distributors, mini starters, and high quality electric fan controllers. 2016 also saw the release of a new line of high performance ignition coils for applications from Ford to Honda.
One area of our business that saw a very significant change this year was marketing. Beginning mid-way through the year, our marketing department began a transition toward maturity, which was a logical and necessary step for our growing company. We now have a full team in-house whose sole responsibility is to create a brand identity for Top Street Performance that embodies our core principles and a high value for our customers. That includes refining product images and data, active interaction on social media, professional advertisements, and an attractive and highly-functional website. We want everyone who buys from TSP to know they are getting a quality product and their money is being well-spent.
As we look forward to 2017, we know we have a great deal of work ahead of us. Our sales team will continue to focus on expanding our market share and building relationships with new customers and partners around the world. Product development will further expand our product line into new and exciting areas. Our marketing department will look to further increase the quality of our website and online presence, define our brand identity, and greatly increase our brand recognition in the automotive industry.
With all our accomplishments this year and all our aspirations for next, we want to take a moment to offer our utmost gratitude and appreciation to all our customers, partners, vendors, and anyone who has helped us to have an amazing 2016. We will be closed on December 26th and January 2nd to spend time with our loved ones. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season, and we wish you a very happy new year.
